21st and 22nd August 2013

SEDEX31 was held a year after I was PD for SEDEX30. This time round, my ETP project didn't got into SEDEX31. Although I was kinda disappointed, I still have one Open Innovation Team (OIC) which was initially formed by a friend of mine, Jeya. Before we managed to meet up for even the first meeting, he met an accident and passed away. However, despite his absence,we continued and finally manage to enter SEDEX with very last minute preparations.

Our team won the bronze medal and Best Poster under the supervision of Dr Balbir
2013 was indeed the Poster year for me as I won two Poster Competitions, Cheme Car and also SEDEX31.

Rapid KL Monorail Field Trip

20th August 2013
This was my 3rd overall field trip. This time round, my coursemates and I went to Rapid KL Monorail. We were able to witness how monorail functions and how the tracks switches lanes.

Not only that, we were given free monorail trip from Tun Sambanthan to Titiwangsa Centre

Monorail tracks uses 700V DC Voltage power supply, which is converted from a 11KV AC Voltage power substation. The right side of the track is the positive pole and the left side of the track is negative pole. Next the 700V is stepped down to 415V AC for the induction motor of the train to function.

Overall, the whole trip was very knowledgeable. We were also able to witness how workers does maintenance on the trains and repairing the damaged parts.

Engineering Team Project - Smart Iron Set

15th August 2013

The subject that bought me to total insanity this semester was none other than Engineering Team Project. The project that my team ought to do was the Smart Iron Set. The project was headed by me.

Despite not getting into SEDEX31, I had learnt a huge amount of things dealing this project. To be honest, I realized, there are people who are always lagging behind and does not want to show any commitment which makes me felt very frustrated. Nevertheless, everything have ended and I have achieved all my goals but one, getting into SEDEX.

3D Doraemon Puzzle - Shell

13th August 2013
Shell launched 3D Doraemon puzzles few weeks ago, and I got too excited to try to collect them all.

The puzzles are RM8.90 each with every purchase of Shell selected items. What's interesting is that, each Doraemon puzzle figures came in random in a sealed box.

With help of some of my friends and generous, yet friendly Shell cashiers, I managed to collect all 8 despite having drawn same ones. They were kind enough to exchange the ones that I don't have so that I could complete my collection with having to buy any extras.

The first puzzle figure that I got from the random box was a Doraemon. I was so excited that I decided to go on and collect all of them.

I had promised my brother to bring him out for a movie, and I kept my promise. It was Kara King that he wanted to watch so I accompanied him. The movie was directed and casted by Namewee himself. Overall, it was about a singing village and singing rivalry competition.

Watched: Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

9th August 2013

Ivy and I went for this movie after a breakfast at Plan B. It was also a long time since I last met her.

The movie was from a fiction storybook Percy Jackson, a Poseidon demigod. I grew interest in watching this movie after watching the first part.

Watched: RIPD Rest in Peace Department

5th August 2013

It was during the Hari Raya breaks that some of my friends decided to stay at UTP to finish up the never ending assignments and projects. This is engineering life.

Charles and me decided to head to Aeon Jusco for a little chill out from those hectic life, as we watched RIPD. The movie was quite nice, despite less action packed scenes as we expected.
