Guardians and Ralph

On this off-day, I went with my bro to celebrate his birthday earlier at Aeon Jusco. We had movie spree by watching two movies namely Rise of the Guardians and Wreck it Ralph

Rise of the Guardians

This movie is about 4 children guardians namely, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Sandman and Tooth Fairy protecting the children of the universe from darkness and gave them memorable childhood. However, villain Boogeyman tries to attack the children with darkness. The guardians were against him and later joined by Jack Frost, a new guardian which summons ice and snow.  

Wreck-it Ralph

This movie is about Ralph from the arcade game Fix-it Felix Jr which was being abused as the bad guy in his own game. Soon, after being challenged for a medal, he left his game and ventured into another arcade game Heroes Duty for a medal. He almost caused chaos in the game, but soon got his medal. He later led a virus from the game Heroes Duty to another game Sugar Rush, where his real adventure began. He met this glitch, Vanellope who was supposed to be the main character of the game, but was masterminded by Turbo who imitated himself as King Candy. Together, Ralph helped Vanellope to win a racing car game in order to reset the game.

Overall, both these movies were great and have great story lines.

Skyfall

Guess what? I have started working back and Friday will be my usual off day.

Today, Charles, together with his friend accompanied me to watch Skyfall, yet another James Bond movie. It was nice and action - packed. The funniest part was that we guessed correctly what was inside the box that M gave to 007 after her death will, which is the dog figure that can't be destroyed despite a terrorist explosion.

Tai Chi Hero

2 months semester breaks have passed in a glimpse of an eye. A long planned outing with my friends had finally worked out. Me, Hong Tat, Ivy together with her boyfriend watched this hilarious Mandarin movie in Aeon Jusco named Taichi Hero.

Initially, I have not heard about this movie, but was instructed by my friend, Hong Tat to buy whatever movie that is available. In the end, it turns out that this movie was worth to watch and it actually features some famous actors such as AngelaBaby and Eddie Peng (both from 'Love You You' movie), Tony Leung and others. This was actually the second part of it, whereby the first part is only out last month and I heard the third part will be out soon.

Tai Chi Hero

After watching this movie, I'm now craving for Tai Chi 0, which is the first part of this movie. Anyone who has it, please share it with me.

On the other hand, after the movies and a slight dinner, I received a surprised belated birthday gift from my angel, Ivy. Somehow, I was embarrassed that in return, I had not prepared anything for her. I promised to her that I would prepare a big Christmas present for her in return. =)

It turns out that inside the big "Happy Birthday" goodie bag, it contains a large 'Dumpling' :P

Doraemon Paper Craft Result

20th October 2012

So I was in KL the whole day there, running around with my friend, Woei Hong and do various stuffs just in one day.

9am : Broad ETS to KL

11.30am : Reached KL Sentral and met up with Woei Hong and had lunch

1pm : Took the komuter for the first time of my life to Midvalley Megamall. It took us around 20 minutes waiting for it.

2pm : Reached Midvalley Megamall. Was planning to watch a movie there but ended up playing Snooker for the first time in my life.

3.30pm : Took the komuter back to KL Sentral and waited quite long for the bus to Sunway Giza Mall

5pm : Reached Sunway Giza Mall and was raining quite heavily. Almost soaked wet. Walked around the Doraemon fair and snapped some photos.

6pm : Went to Wong Kok Restaurant to have our dinner. We ordered some food on the order paper, but in the end only getting drinks because the waiter forgot to turn the other side of the order paper; she got us waiting 30 minutes for our food, which in the end, we had to reorder. At the meantime, I went up the mall to confirm my attendance.

6.45pm : Arrival of Pong Kien Ping

7pm : Announcement of results. Before that, I managed to get a lot snapshots of the paper craft that is still displayed there. So, they announced the Campus Category winners first, starting from 10th placing, which my team grabbed it.

I asked Kien Ping to help me snatch the top two Doraemon back home, but he refused.

So, my team got 10th placing in campus category out of 62 teams.

 7.30pm : Me, Woei Hong, Kien Ping and Benjamin, Kien Ping's friend left for One Utama as soon as we got the certificates. I'm glad to know Ben because he's an engineer working for TV3, and he's asking me whether I'm interested in doing internships with him. Well, I'm still considering.

 8.20pm : We watched the movie "Stolen" starred by Nicholas Cage. The movie was quite nice, but maybe I was too tired after whole day in KL. I was yawning all the way.

 11.00pm : Kien Ping fetched us all the way back to Woei Hong's house.

Doraemon Paper Craft - Top 10 Finalist

18th October 2012

Recently, I've participated in Doraemon Paper Craft Competition organized by memopillow in conjunction with Doraemon's 100 years before birth. Based on my previous post, I registered 2 teams under campus category and guess what? Today, I received news across Facebook that one of my paper crafts got into top 10 finalist running for the Campus Category award.

The one of the bottom left belongs to me, together with other finalists.

Honestly, I don't hope much on winning, just glad that my team's hard work got into top 10 finalist out of 62 contestants in Campus Category. 

I will be going down to KL this Saturday for the Prize Giving Ceremony where they will announce the winner. However, I should be spending most of my time snapping photos and getting to know other contestants *ahem* instead of putting my hands together wishing to win the top prize. I guess in my heart, no matter I win or lose, my Doraemon paper craft is always the winner. It has the number "100" encrypted using LEDs on the breadboard. I did the most honorable thing to my project as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer.

I only do this once in my lifetime and I'll be treasuring this moment. =) Just hope I don't get robbed when I go to KL this weekend alone. :P

Doraemon Paper Craft

You might feel that I'm childish, even I felt that I'm very childish. 20 years old already still hogging around with Doraemon, but it's not really the case. Doraemon is indeed my childhood buddy, and I really adore Doraemon, but the real situation is that I adore the future gadgets that Doraemon has. You might think his gadgets are not logical, but as an EE engineer, I can tell you, some of his gadgets can be invented, not now; but might be in the future when the technology further advances. Who says it's not possible?

Few days ago, I found a Doraemon Paper Craft competition in Facebook and decided to ask my friends to participate together. There's this rule that magnetized me to participate, besides feeling utmost boring due to my 4 months semester break.

Participants are encouraged to use any recycle materials or engineering components such as lights, buzzers, motors and rubber bands, to create a multisensory experience.

So, I formed a team comprised of Siew San, Michelle, Matthew and Kelvin. After almost 1 week of preparation, we spent one whole night in UTP putting all parts of the puzzle up together. In the end, getting glitter powders all over and eye bags, we finally completed our paper craft.

On the other hand, my another friend, Daymon invited me to his group because he was also interested in joining this competition. He did all the photoshop designing while I was in-charge in doing the EE stuffs again.

So carrying two big boxes, I went to KL to submit this two prototypes to Sunway Giza Mall and spend one night in KL, staying at Woei Hong's place. Thanks to him, I get to visit Sunway Pyramid again and I still can't really recognize the maze. I would really get lost if I were there alone.

Outward Bound Lumut Part 3

I don't usually collect coins, but I do this whole second semester. I usually misplaced those coins, but without  my realization, I've actually collected RM37.70 last nine months. All thanks to my Doraemon piggy bank. =)

Outward Bound Lumut Part 2

10 - 16 September 2012

This is the Second Part of my Outward Bound experience in Lumut. Well, most of the photos that I've been expecting haven't been uploaded yet. So I'll just carry on with whatever photos I have.

Having a mild discussion on Day 1

Since I haven't found any kayaking photos yet which falls on Day 2 and 3. I shall proceed with Day 4 to Day 7.

Day 4 and 5
After a long journey of kayaking, we never thought that we would survive kayaking around the whole Pangkor Island, fighting waves and extremely hot weather. Our next activity after kayaking was whaling.

A whaler is a huge boat that can fit around 15 people and during ancient times, it is often used to hunt whales. Nowadays, it has become a very expensive recreation activity mainly used to set up teamwork and leaderships among youths as it is no longer used to hunt whales. Nonetheless, 8 people are required to row the oars of the whaler simultaneously in order for the whaler to move. It is indeed an awesome experience as I was selected to be the captain of my team. Day 4 was used for practicing and knowing how to set up sails and various preparations, while on Day 5, we were asked to set out to Shawal Beach for a 2 days, 1 night camp.

On Day 5, we were acknowledged that we need to compete with the other two teams, Stong and Trusmadi to see who arrives at the destination first. My watch's preparation was done way earlier than other teams as we set out first and leave a huge gap in front. However, after lunch, we had underestimated our opponents and finally lost to Trusmadi by a fingertip margin. Although I do not really care about the competition, but it reflects us in our life's that we should not ever underestimate our opponents even we are having leisure leads. We finally arrived at our destination, Shawal Beach after almost 8 hours of whaling and rowing.

Day 6
After one night in Shawal Beach. We set sail to return to Outward Bound base. We woke up as early as 5 am to get everything on track. Again, we were the first to set out and first to arrive. Upon reaching the base, we were tremendously happy as we know all the activities have been accomplished and we will soon have a good and well rest. That night, to celebrate everyone's accomplishment, we had BBQ night and filled our grumbling stomachs with mouth watering food and appetizers. Each watch is required to come out with a performance around 5 - 7 minutes. My group came out with a hilarious sketch on our 6 days journey in OB and ended our sketch with a parody song of Seasons in the Sun.
